Colorful streamer ... which streams in ... blue sky
Insect chasing Festival of Icchoda, Kawauracho, Amakusa-shi Hachiman shrine which is unusually appointed in intangible folk cultural properties of Amakusa-shi is held nationwide.
According to the tradition, pest occurred in large outbreaks in this district at the time in the Kanei era year (1630), and not only rice growing but also all crops seemed to be states of the annihilation up to the trees and plants.
Pest of the, strangely, district disperses instantly when usually religious Grandma Ichiro unable to remain indifferent to this dedicates red silk cloth to patron saint promptly, and she prays for breaking up for a few days, and she has the silk cloth, and she sends away pest of the fields, and it is said that we got out of trouble.
It is said that red silk cloth at that time was formed by insect chasing flag called current streamer.
