Itsutsubashi, Amakusa was opened at five bridges to tie the Kyushu mainland and Amakusa to in . It is also called Amakusa pearl line and is connected after experiencing Oya Nojima, eiurashima, Oike Island, Maejima from Misumi to Kamijima, Amakusa.
On Route 266, total extension is 17.4km. There was from 1 bridge to 5 bridge, and free, but toll was suffering now at the time when it was completed. Structure of Itsutsubashi, Amakusa
Person that Itsutsubashi, Amakusa has been crossed thinks whether you know, but there is signboard just before bridge, and model of bridge is listed there.
But it is written by technical term, and it does not turn out that you mean what……That means, is there?
For example, 3 bridge, 4 bridge are "ramen bridges having hinge in the span center", but there should be a lot of "ramen" and that it seemed.

Surprisingly, as for Chairperson Osawa, license seemed to be acquired on Itsutsubashi completion day ()! As there were few people who still took license, we felt, chairperson "wanted to get on car immediately if Itsutsubashi was opened!" and, in this time, seemed to begin to go early.
……But that, besides, we seemed to have been, and, in place that could go now in seven minutes, the beginning of opening was congested, and the thought has suffered from strong person for 40 minutes.
"Bridge which keeps alive" itself of islanders

Furthermore, as for plan, the picture-story show which we produced, history of Amakusa-Gokyo Bridge is still used for children as valuable information on telling led by meeting of Kamiamakusa tour guide, Chairperson Osawa.
Itsutsubashi, Amakusa that finally reaches the 50th anniversary this year. You should be able to enjoy as charm of more profound Amakusa when you cross bridge after having known such a history.
Brief career history
- We are born in Yushima-mura, Amakusa-gun (existing Kamiamakusa-shi) in .
- We worked at office of Yushima-mura, but we make a voyage to Shanghai and, after the retirement, make fortune.
- When we are elected member of prefectural assembly and propose Itsutsubashi, Amakusa, we wear Morning with family coat of arms.
- We launched "jiikukai" triggered by wife having died early and distributed dry milk to mothers of milk who did not appear and worked on social welfare.
- As the second Mayor Oyano, we perform pressure toward Itsutsubashi, Amakusa realization in the area concerned.
- We did not use public car to omit various waste between the mayor and moved on motorcycle which the staff ran and we reversed envelope and used and performed thorough approach.
- We contributed all salary for mayor three sittings 12 years.
- About seven years later, we pass away at 83 years old after making sure of Itsutsubashi, Amakusa completion.
morikokukyu (forest Kunihisa)
It is (1953) in 1953 that magnificent plan to mend five bridges which Amakusa bridging takes on third dimension for realization first and go through Amakusa Islands not one bridge happened. Important person who played an active part for realization will be morikokukyu (1912-1961) then.
In (1951), morikokukyu, run was asked election for village mayor of Toishima-mura, Amakusa-gun for as desired star of young people of village in 1951 and was young village mayor elected. We marched into national remote island representative rising to action meeting and showed impassioned speech to report distress of "remote island Amakusa". The impassioned speech moves heart of audience, and morikokukyu distinguishes itself by national remote island promotion campaign. In addition, we participated in modified work of remote island promotion bill as main members, and long-cherished remote island promotion law was established soon in the Diet.
morikokukyu was guessed soon by committee member of the remote island promotion measures council and played a big role in expansion of remote island promotion budget. In addition, we showed power for negotiations with government bank over construction of Amakusa bridging other than participation in meeting in Tokyo.
As morikokukyujimi died earlier, we were not able to make sure of figure of bridge, but bridge was completed at last in (1966) September in 1966 as a result that people of Amakusa made an effort in cooperation with each other hard.
Bridge extra of Amakusa
Amakusa consisting of islands of big things and small things about 120. The islands are connected by many individual bridges. As well as stone structure, there are various kinds of bridges which we want to take a picture of unintentionally.
"Amakusa Seto-ohashi" which links Shimoshima to Ueshima of Amakusa. As Itsutsubashi, Amakusa was opened in 1966 (49 years ago), life of islanders changes completely. By increase of ship which traffic vehicles increase day by day with that though it became very convenient, and goes back and forth with Seto, traffic is large traffic jam. Sharp increase and speed of such a traffic answered request of becoming, and loop-type viaduct which greatly stepped over Seto was born in 1974!
It was important post with about 700m in total length, Route 266 and Route 324, but it was in such a form because height from the sea surface was taken so that ship could go along bottom.
This bridge seemed to be made from reason, "it was very hard to cross Seto-ohashi on bicycle and foot". It was 1978 (38 years ago) four years later after Seto-ohashi was just completed. Because it is painted red, as popular name "red bridge", it is got close from Amakusa islanders.
Bridge of 883m in total length representing elegant curve to link the back beach new fishing port to Ushibuka city. It was designed by world-famous authorized architect, Renzo Piano.
Representative stone bridge of Amakusa
It is largest domestically in stone construction girder constructed after the Edo era, and is appointed to country-designated important cultural property as rare "multi-leg expression" for the whole country. It is place where the riot group and the defense forces of Karatsu feudal clan deployed desperate struggle to by riot of Amakusa, Shimabara. Building stones are shitauraishi.
Stone bridge with atmosphere
Originally was hung as approach to a shrine of fearlessness hermitage in sentaketosankuchi, and building stones are shitauraishi. We rebuild in 1882.
Is appointed to prefecture-designated important cultural property with Amakusa oldest thing for arched Ishibashi. Building stones are shitauraishi..
After riot (1637) of Amakusa, Shimabara, we appoint to Amakusa-shi designated cultural assets with stone bridge erected for stability of Amakusa confidence of the people. We are estimated to be completion in the late Tokugawa period.
Bridge which is built over Tagawa now of Kawauracho, Amakusa-shi. and became current figure. There is place to go down under the stone bridge, and, seeing from bottom, bridge is seen very neatly.
With small stone bridge built over branch, Uto River of Kamegawa, is appointed to Amakusa-shi designated cultural assets. It is completed in 1882.

shitauraishi which is indispensable to stone bridge
The town where building stones business which are eminent in the prefecture is prosperous in Shimouramachi of Amakusa.
shitauraishiko produces most of torii and stone bridges of Shinto shrine of Amakusa Shimauchi.
shitauraishi was used for stone pavements of garden and Dutch Slopes of Glover Garden of Nagasaki.
